24-Hour Fingerprint Status Check Page

YOUR FINGERPRINT STATUS UPDATE IS JUST A CLICK AWAY

AMERITEK ID recommends that Applicants who are being printed for professional licensing should always check on the status of their Live Scan fingerprint record. You may check on the status of your Live Scan record by going to the DOJ Website.

You will need the following information:

  • Your date of birth.
  • Your 10-digit Automated Transaction Identifier (ATI) Number that appears at the bottom of the Department of Justice – Request For Live Scan Form. The ATI Number always appears in the following sequence: 1 LETTER; 3 NUMBERS; 3 LETTERS and 3 NUMBERS.

24-HOUR DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE STATUS PAGE: https://applicantstatus.doj.ca.gov/

Please allow a minimum of 7 days before making a status inquiry. Please note that requests which require the manual processing of criminal history information, such as those involving pre-1945 cases, may delay the reporting of results.

If your Live Scan record has been rejected you will receive a letter of rejection either from the Department of Justice or your Employer. Take a copy of your rejection letter, along with a copy of your Live Scan form, to the Live Scan service provider who originally processed your fingerprint record for a Live Scan “Resubmission”. DOJ and FBI fees are waived for Live Scan resubmissions and your original Live Scan service provider is not to charge you a rolling fee.

If after 7 days the 24-Hour DOJ Status Page indicates that the DOJ has no record of your Live Scan submission contact your Live Scan service provider immediately. Confirm with your service provider that your Live Scan was submitted and ask for a transmission report if they are able to generate one. If you are able to confirm with your service provider that you record was indeed transmitted, you should then contact your licensing agency with the information. Ask your licensing agency to fax a “Transaction Follow Up Request” to the Department of Justice on your behalf.
